Hi guys, Im from Ireland and I heard you on the Mooney show on the radio here today. I checked out your song "2 roosters" on youtube after they played it on the show and I loved it. Im not really a religous person but I do share your point of view on homosexuality. Currently gay marriage is a real hot topic over here and if we were to vote on it tomorrow, sadly I think it would pass. However we are a strong catholic country and after a few months of propper debate on the issue people would see sense I hope. Anyway I just felt compelled to drop you guys a line after I heard you speak as it struck a chord with me. Keep up your good work and God bless. Gavin Kavanagh, Kildare, Ireland.

This is a comment to respond to Edward.Anyone claiming to be a Christian and hating anyone would not truly be a Christian God living inside would not allow that. ("Claiming to be a car because I park myself in a garage does not therefore make me a car.") But in response to the fact, that God is Love, God is also Holy and you do apparently believe in God. God's word is true, look in Genesis chapter 1 vs 27...So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created He him: male & female created He them.VS 28: And God blessed them and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Now let us examine the fact he made male & female. Everything God made was pleasing to Him. His design was to procreate (have children)2 men mating cannot produce nor can 2 women produce. So we have to conclude if nothing else this is not God's perfect design. Which I might add has nothing to do with hate or any kind of malice at all. It is purely stating what God said His design is meant to do. But let us look at some other scriptures; Leviticus 18:22-30 Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind; it is an abomination.23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith; neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto; it is confusion. 24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things; for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. 26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgements and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: 27(For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) 28 That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. 29 For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people. 30 Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the Lord your God. See also Romans 1 24-27 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator, who is blessed forever Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. (read also Romans 1:29-32) God's word- no one else can judge you . If you can read God's word and not under stand how clearly God says this is not His plan, that means it is your choice not the way you were born or the way God choose for you to be. Why don't you ask God to reveal to you, the fact that His Son Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners like me & you and everyone else ever born on the face of this earth born into sin. Jesus paid the price but we need to understand, we are sinners, before we ask God to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. He will give you a new life. By perverting God's word, you are placing yourself above God. If you in fact think the things God calls an abomination are not because you choose this lifestyle then in fact you are telling God what is right and that God needs to meet your standards. NO HATE AT ALL...... God really is love, but also Holy ! His word is truth.

I'm sure this won't be posted as you review all "notes" as I'm also sure your pretty selective on content not flattering to you. At worst I'll probably get lots of hate mail from it. I just watched your "Two roosters don't make a chicken" video. All your video will do is spread hate and intolerance. I'm pretty sure that the general population understands how procreation happens. I dont think we have to go "Down to the farm" for our education. God IS about LOVE and UNDERSTANDING. It is HE who is judge. When two people love each other that is their own business. If it happens to be two men or two women how does it affect you? Let God be the judge of what is right and wrong. You can't force someone to be attracted to a specific gender. We are who God made us to be. We may not understand the reasons on why Our Lord does things the way He does or why He makes His children different. Just remember this one small fact that you seem to have forgotten...GOD MAKES NO MISTAKES! We are PERFECTLY made the way HE wants us to be, EXACTLY how He wants us to be! May Our Lord bless you both and open your minds and your hearts. Stop the hate for GOD IS LOVE. Peace.

I am located in Forest Virginia. I was sent your video entitled "Down on the Farm". I have been saved since December 12, 2009. My wife received Christ six months after I did. Our Family lives for Christ. We give a lot of our time to helping other Christians in many ways. We feed the ones that have no food, we drive them if they have no transportation. We dedicate our time to watch their children so they can participate in Prayer Groups. We are raising our young children to know and Love Christ. I am saddened to say though that many of the so called Christians in my church get offended every time I mention that Jesus is coming soon. I watch the signs of the times based upon the Scriptures of Ezekiel, Daniel, Isaiah, and John that tells me that the Church is about to be RAPTURED out very quickly. It hurts me when other Christians will argue with me about it. They say; It could be a sign but no one knows for sure. That's a complete Lie. Jesus told us to watch and be ready. You were right when you said that the Church is asleep. They don't want to face the truth. They don't even want to talk about it.

Just heard your song "Come On Down To The Farm", all I have to say is its about time someone took a stand for what is right. In these days of liberal thinking too many people do what "feels good" instead of doing whats right. No one wants to take responsibility for, not only his brother or sister but also for himself. Its easier to blame others for the world going to hell. Keep up the good work!

Satan is the greatest con artest that ever lived. Many people ,Some (Good harted) have been fooled by this advesary of our creator. Why? Because they want designer religon..They dont want the truth..

It was so wonderful to meet you both at Old Liberty last night. I was blessed to hear the back story of a song that has meant so much to me for many years. I will remember it always, especially each time I sing "Walking Back Down" either to myself or a congregation. Thank you for your courage in sharing "Down to the Farm" as well. Evil prevails when good people sit by and do nothing, and I thank you for standing in the truth, on the truth, and with the truth. God Bless you both.

After research, I can answer the 'Down on the Farm' question; What does the Bible say about homosexual behavior and gay marriage? Study the following verses: Genesis 2:18–25 Leviticus 18:22 Mark 10:6 Romans 1:26–27 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 1 Timothy 1:9–10 You can not deny that the Bible tells us how we should live.

Hey Laura, I'm amazed at the comments from the homosexual community about the song, "Down To the Farm". That tells me that since you've gotten their "goat" so as to speak, that you've hit the nail on the head. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of the sin of homosexuality. Anyone who says otherwise is blind to the reality and the facts. If they have a problem with the song, then they should take it up with God, and not you or Ray! I'm really glad that you like the Zavita that I turned you on to back in July. People can now go to your personalized web site of www.FirstFitness.com/lewisandlewis web site to find out more about it. Between that and everything else that First Fitness has to offer people, they should be able to avoid the swine flu this season! I let everyone know that you are my famous singing and song writing cousin and that wrote "I'm a Winner Either Way". I also play for people the "Down to the Farm" song from my phone as well. Everyone that has heard it gets a real big kick out of it and they all realize it is true too. And if people want to hear more of what you've done, I send them to your web site here. Those people that don't get right with God, will find themselves standing before God when they die without any excuse, especially if they are a practicing homosexual, or lesbian. It is a lifestyle choice, regardless of what anyone says. If it was genetic, it would have died out after the first generation as neither homosexuals, or lesbians, can reproduce on their own. Every civilization that has allowed those things to be a part of their society, has crumbled and fallen from within, rather than from their enemies. Some of the people that have commented also write like they've never been to school. It is so sad too. I'm just glad my mom told me about you 2 years ago! I really love the new CD "The Real Deal" too! Good thing it is a CD instead of a cassette tape, it would be stretched and wore out by now if it wasn't!

This is fantastic. Persecution of the Christian belief, and people. That was predicted over 2000 years ago. Read about it in the BIBLE. God loves it.

I just heard come on down to the farm it was awsome. Someone needs to tell people that God does not aprove of that lifestyle. You the words in the Bible are not just for those who lived 2000 years ago they are just as previlant today even more so. See God said that Homeosexuals, liars theifs and exct.. would not inherit the Kingdom of God, but , would have there place in hell

Your song "come down to the farm" is great. I loved it. Can you belive Their trying to make it sound like its genetics? God would never put something like that in man. They choose to do it, there is no other reason. Randy

As a gay man that is legally married to another man up here in Canada, I am sick to see that you preach to other people on how to live there own lives and that you think we are in the wrong. I am not a religious person, but doesn't the bible say something about just loving one and all with out hate? How or what gives you the right to tell me what is right and wrong with my life when you don't even know me as a person? I hope that everyone who reads this will atleast try and get to know someone before judging them !!! I don't judge what goes on in your house and behind your closed doors, so maybe you should be doing the same..... open your eyes and your hearts to everyone the same and get to know someone before opening your mouth and putting others down, just because we don't all agree with how you think doesn't make me a bad person. until now, i didn't know who you where and I never judged you on your other songs personally. But now that I see you did the farm song, you have really made me see just how blind you people really are!!!!! One day, maybe everyone will just except everyone for just being human and not judge them on things like skin color and who they love.

This evening I opened an email from an aquaintance and it contained a wmv file with your Two Roosters song. I am a 61 year old fundamentalist Christian, a sinner saved by grace. I never attended church as a youth and was 35 years old before getting saved. I have two sons and a nephew who are living homosexual lifestyles. I come from a blue collar, redneck (I say that with all fondness)background. I have been dealing with this issue for nearly 20 years. Living a homosexual lifestyle is living in sin. So is "shacking up", sex outside of marriage, adultery, gluttony, divorce etc. I send you this note because I do not beleive you realize the damage you do with a song like Two Roosters. Homosexuals are people who, just like us, are sinners. Just like us they need to be shown that we care about them before they are ever going to listen to why we beleive as we do. Several years ago, while visiting our younger son who lives in the Castro District of San Francisco, I spent a Sunday afternoon at a "beer bash" at a gay bar. One of the men with whom I had a lengthy conversation said to me, "I hope Drew realizes what a great Dad he has to come here with him. If my Dad came to visit me he would never even consider it, he is way to good a Christian." I thought, well Lord you opened the door. I replied, "I disagree with you. I am a Christian. As a Christian I am called to love you even though I disagree with your choice of lifestyle. I think that if your Dad was a good Christian he would come here with you." I can only hope and pray that I planted a seed in that man's heart. I love southern gospel music, and classic country & western. I wish you the best on your future endeavors

We were directed to your website by a friend and loved it. I am one of those Christians that has no intention of being MIA. I sincerely believe that as Christians we have the moral duty to stand and fight for what our Founding Fathers fought and died for....(and our soldiers are still doing it today). God Bless America, but we need to get her back on track and the first step, in my opinion, is to get Christians back on track and that is up to and including me! Barb Cassel Evanston, WY

hi ray & laura your message was clear,we live in a great country,to be able to have so many choices remember the 10 commanments when moses came down from getting the word well if you remember their were song and,a worship of and idol of gold well we all know the out come of how they wondered for 40 years we can not change a free society for their are always choices a farmer can not grow any food without seed and so it is with out the planting of god and his law of seed nothing will grow in our lifes, unless we plant his seed of love we must forgive sin for god claims judgement is his,not ours. charlie, smith

Loved the “two roosters” Song. The song led me to your website, and Ray’s rant hits the nail on the head. My teenager purchased the book Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs and published by Picador Press with a gift card at Borders. She was bored with the “teen section” and I stupidly suggested she try a biography. I recently read the book. It is the most vile, predatory, vulgar and obscene book I have ever encountered. It is filled with episodes of deviant sex. I have tried to protest this book in my local community. Thinking churches with schools attached would be interested in warning their congregation, I typed up a letter telling of the specific pages which are in my opinion pornographic. Some people have listened politely and some have given me the bums rush out the door. I have also written to several national organizations and have received a few polite replies. The paper won’t publish my letter. What’s a Mom to do? If you are as alarmed as I am that obscene books designed to appeal to kids are being sold in “family friendly” bookstores please do as I am doing. Boycott Borders and tell them why you are doing so. The movie industry labels their movies. The record industry does as well. Why not books? As consumers we have the right to tell the book industry to keep obscene material out of the hands of our children. (Want to check it out before you complain the book is in the library and the following pages are real eye openers. Don’t read them if you are easily offended. Pages 85-86, 159-161, 110-112.) Thank you Elaine

Just saw your video down on the farm. I'm a Christian and not homosexual but never believed in two wrongs making a right. Making fun of a persons choice to live their life in a different way is not the way to go. Live your life the way you want to, encourage others to live their lives the way of the Lord, but don't make fun of people when they choose a different path

I was truly BLESSED last Saturday night when you played in Eufaula Oklahoma, thank-you. I am looking forward to seeing you in Indianola Oklahoma Derby Day May 2nd. I do have a question, do you know any Christian writers, writers of Books, the reason I am asking, I am looking for a person to help me write my testimony. I have suffered 3 broken necks, have battled cancer, I am still walking and breathing by the GRACE of GOD. My Title is The Lord, Ford, Dad, and Me. The Ford is Tennessee Ernie Ford, one of Dad's favorite Gospel singers. I got the title from a line in a Walter Brennan song Old Rivers. The Mule, Old Rivers, and Me. Thank-you in Christ's Love. I would just like to say, that the blessings we received from this fine couple were beyond anything we might have expected. I am pastor of a very small church, so I was concerned about not being able to support their ministry enough for them to come. Several times, they assured me that they were just looking forward to worshipping with us. And that is exactly what happened. If you have the opportunity to have these folks come to your church - jump on it. God bless their ministry.

"Come on down to the Farm" is a hoot! I gotta say that I completely agree with Ray's Rantings, and am wondering what I, as a Christian, can do to help change things back to where they used to be. I am an old lady, 66, but very active and willing to do whatever. As Ray said, one woman took Christ out of our schools (I remember that day - I was in college at the time and quite offended, and look how she ended up, if that isn't true retribution I don't know what is!), and I would think we could put His Name back! My friends are Christians, and we all deplore the sad ending that is surely coming to our great country. I will be in Nashville in October (I sing with Sweet Adelines and we're having a huge "do" there - it's our once-a-year International Competition, and we're staying at the Hilton Hotel, across from the facility where we perform.) Would love to attend your church, if you'll be there, but your calendar doesn't show that far in advance. Will be looking for your name in the Jacksonville, FL paper for a performance here somewhere so I can come see you perform. Really enjoy your music! In harmony, Brandy

I am sending your website to those in my address book because the testimonies are terrific and just maybe one person will be touched by them and receive Christ. I got to know you from the Down to the Farm video on You Tube and I fell in love with it. I can't sing but I am a professional at laughing. When will you post your schedule for the remainder of the year? I wish that it would be possible for you to come to Northeast Mississippi. I would love for our church to have you come. We are not far from Savannah, Tn. beings you will be there in June I believe. Our church is NE of Tupelo near Mantachie, Ms. Gods speed to you and keep it safe on the roadways. Glenn

I just wanted to tell you both that I enjoyed your music when you were at Saline Baptist Church in Somerset Ky a while back. I had been having alot of family issues at the time, and after hearing your words and music, it helped me to remember that all I had to do was pray, and I could bounce back from all the turmoil I had been living in. My husband had been forcably evicted from our home in April, I was 8months pregnant at the time, and had to take care of my two oldest children alone. I prayed every single day, all day long it seemed, that God would take away all the pain and heartache that my family was dealing with. Around the time that you were visiting Saline, I was questioning whether or not God was hearing me. Things seemed to have been getting worse for my situation. I honestly was at the bottom of the barrell, at my all time lowest. When Laura sang the song about taking it to the lord, and leaving it, I dont remember the name of the song, but when I heard that, by the time it was over I was crying. I realized that no matter what happened, God was here for me. So that night, after my kids went to bed, I prayed to God, and I told him everything that was bothering me and making me so upset. I left nothing out...Let me tell you, after i prayed, I felt SOOOOO much better, and felt that there was hope still yet. Since then, I hear that song in my head, and at night when i pray, i hear it. To date, my husband got to come home finally, four months later. God answered my prayers, and thanks to you and your music, I know that he IS here for me, to help me all the time and he does hear prayers. I just wanted to thank you so much for your dedication to the lord, because you have at least touched one person, and that is me. Thank you again and i hope i get to see you both soon and hear you music. PS: I was the girl who spoke to Laura about Cedar Hill Baptist church in monticello ky after the service was over. God bless you both!!!!

Your website was sent to me by a friend. I am currently working with a group of local parents to battle against the homosexual agenda in our public schools. It is a long story, but you can imagine the scenario. Most Christians have been extremely supportive, but some have, quite honestly, kicked me in the teeth and insinuated I am promoting "gay hate". Ray's Rantings was so inspiring! I read it all and decided to promote what he wrote to encourage other Christians to get moving! If you would like to see the blog I am speaking of, it is at www.wbcommunityinfo.blogspot.com . Thanks for the extra push tonight! I needed it! Ginny in West Bend

I just felt like I wanted to share this what with all of the varying thoughts being expressed here about the message of the 'Down to the farm' song... Since this devotional can be accessed on the internet by anyone I feel that it is ok to share here but just know that the author of this message did not put this here...I take full responsibility. By the way, I need this message more than anyone who has posted here... Hate the Sin... Hate the Sinner? One of the most important steps in overcoming an unforgiving attitude is to focus your attention on how much God has forgiven you. The parable of the unmerciful servant vividly illustrates this principle (Matt. 18:21-35). This parable illustrates an attitude that is all too common among Christians. We take God's forgiveness for granted, while we stubbornly withhold our forgiveness from others. In effect, we behave as though others' sins against us are more serious than our sins against God. Jesus teaches that this is a terribly sinful thing to do--it is an affront to God and his holiness, and it demands the forgiveness Jesus purchased for us at Calvary. Taken from The Peacemaker: A Biblical Guide to Resolving Personal Conflict by Ken Sande, Updated Edition (Grand Rapids, Baker Books, 2003) p. 217 Food for Thought You may have heard or used the phrase, "Hate the sin, love the sinner," though this is much easier said than done. We often end up hating the sin and the sinner, too. It's hard to separate the person from the offense, but there seems to be something more going on here than just our limited human sin-sinner separation skills. Consider what the Bible says comes before a fall--pride (Prov. 16:18). Hating not only the sin but the sinner helps maintain the illusion of our superiority over the other person. "I would never do that, say that, or think that." And that (whatever the sin is) soon gets blended into the sinner, with the result being, "I'm not like her or him or them." Remember the lady from the television commercial? "Help, I've fallen and I can't get up!" Little did she know, but she was giving us a fairly good paraphrase of Romans 3.23 -- all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Failing to admit this daily keeps us tight-fisted with forgiveness and mercy--the very bloodstained gifts that flowed from the open hands of Jesus on the cross. Failing to say this leaves us with a pridefully skewed version of that advertisement: "I'm up, I've never fallen (at least not like you), and so I don't need help!" And while we try to convince ourselves that we're just saying that about our brothers, we're really saying that to Him. Instead, let's remember that we've all fallen, and we can't get up. Rescue us, O Lord. Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us. Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Mr & Mrs Lewis, I was sent your song, Down on the Farm, which I thought was funny and so very true. I then started to poke around your web site. I was inspired by your writings and your songs. I sent your song on to all my friends with a special note to take some time like I did and just enjoy your web site. I hope your travels take you a little farther south, or mine takes us north as I would love to see you in person. Thanks for all you do. Hi to you both from Australia, I was sent your link to utube of "Come on down to the barn" - Good one, and bless you for honouring the Lord by speaking His Word on this homosexual situation that is creeping into our societies, and polluting it, and now even kids are being taught it's ok and another option. God forbid. Needless to say I've sent the link out far and wide, for I'm not ashamed to call Him Lord of my life either. In Him, Barb

Hi again, After reading several recent comments, it amazes me that some who don't agree with you, think that name-calling is somehow in order. You are simply stating your beliefs as you think them to be right. We have recently celebrated a national holiday that gives you the right to do that -- which it also gives to your critics (there may be some places in the world where they would not have survived writing those vile words! ). It is sad that they don't understand that you and others are NOT ignorant, close-minded or hateful. Some of your critics can't seem to share THEIR beliefs without vicious name-calling -- something that you 2 have never done. Alex on July 1st, however, expressed his disagreement and views in a reasonable and civilized manner. He explained his thoughts and feelings and welcomed dialogue from you. Bless you Alex -- I wish you well. Susie on July 11 also had an excellent message -- you may have helped a lot of others -- thanks, Susie. I agree with Mitzi from June 18 , that we need to stop the world from desensitizing our children on these matters. The entertainment media is out of control regarding this. And, no, our beliefs in heterosexuality do not end if you are no longer of child-bearing age. And, yes, there ARE some homosexual animals. GOOD GRIEF!! -- Those weren't the points of the song!! Thank you for sharing your talent and courage. Love you, Marlene L.

I really hope you can stop all this hate mongering in time. You think you can get away with it because you fly under the flag of religion. You're wrong. Its not the right way. You'd think in your last days you'd try to make peace with all the horrible things you've already done. I don't think you truly know god. I'm not ignorant enough to claim I know him either. Maybe you can write a song thats called "We're sorry, we really don't understand and we have no right to open our mouths on the subject.". If I find it hard to forgive you for your actions, how easily do you think it will be for a god.. whose image I'm cast from? This isn't a holy crusade. This is a hate propelled delusion you've wrapped yourself in. To brandy: This country WAS founded on Christianity but try not to forget that Christianity has been founded through hatred, wars and the blood of too many innocents. For a religion that is supposed to be about UNDERSTANDING and GOOD WILL TOWARDS YOUR FELLOW MAN is certainly has its mind set to judge, isolate and condemn. I try to stay away from religions. This doesn't make me atheist. The message of MOST religions is right, its people like lewis and lewis who twist the underlying principle for their own means of getting their hatred across that bother me. This "song" reminded me of some Johnny Rebel songs. Also a Christian, right?

I think you are more of a disgrace than gay people, they are not as ignorant as you people. Maybe you should read the Bible one more time because you sure have missed a few lines about love, and understanding. Maybe you should stay out of the barn because you sing an awful lot about animal sex I am scared of your wife. Take care dumbass

Thank you for standing up for Jesus and going about the world singing the truth about him on every subject... Your songs hit where the people live, therefore, because you obey and love the Lord... there are numerous people left without excuses to explain away there choice of life style they live... Yes the truth has been in the word forever, laying dormat for many who have never taken the time to find out what Jesus says about any given subject. This is why I believe God, made this song (Come down to the Farm) as well as your others available to you, so that you could get the real truth out giving everyone an opportunity to change there ways before it is to late.... whether anyone wants to believe it or not we are living in the last days and Jesus is at the very door.... So .... keep on keeping on for the Lord.... It will be my pleasure to Pray for ya'll and your ministry too. God Bless, Elizabeth

Hello, I would like to invite any person struggling with homosexuality to come to the cross of Jesus where because of His Love for you He died to take away the sins of your life that has you bound and in pain and confusion. When He saw you in your sins He sent His only Son, Jesus to demonstrate His love toward you so that you would come to understand that while you were even in the very bed of sin that He loved you so much that He died for you! Are you confused and conflicted about the messages you are hearing? God would have you know that He designed us male and female as image bearers of Himself and for our maximum benefit and pleasure. The fact that even animals are a testimony to His perfect design is just one of the loving ways our Father has of showing you His perfect way for you and to help point you in the right direction if you have been lied to and decieved about your sexuality. The witness of nature is not to condemn you but another loving way to help you to be able to see clearly when you have lost your way because of the decietfulness of sin. Never did God mean for you to feel ashamed. Jesus came to take away your shame and the reproach of your sins. We have all sinned against God and gone against Him in one way or another. But God has come to rescue you from all of the places sin has lied to you and you believed it and thereby has taken you... God offers you all the grace that you need to turn from the sinful life that satan has offered you and recieve His gift of forgiveness and new life! Turn to the love and provision of our Heavenly Father right now for cleansing and He will help you get everything sorted out that is twisted in your life. He is The Redeemer and The Restorer of broken and twisted lives. No condemnation...just mercy and grace and forgiveness and the promise of a new life! Ask Him to forgive, cleanse, save and heal you and you know what? He will!! He did it for me!!

I thought the video was great. I beleive that Jesus wants us to not judge people - but I also believe that marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman. I have friends that are gay - I don't judge them - but they don't shove their lifestyle in my face either - It is not my place to judge others - but I have a major problem with gay activists trying to ram their beliefs down my throat - I am teaching my children that they are not to judge people - but to listen to their hearts and follow Jesus - our country was founded on Christianity - I believe that if you don't like it you should leave - there are plenty of other places in this world that they can go - what I don't understand is why they are trying to destroy our country and take away our rights - People have the frredom of choice to live how they want - I should have the choice to not have their lifestyles shoved in my children's face or in my face. I am proud to be a Catholic - I am proud of my country - We live in the greatest country in the world and I firmly believe that I am blessed to be an American - I am also very afraid that if we Americans do not rise up and stand together that liberals and anti Christians are going to destroy us all - It is time we speak up and let the world know that not all Americans are racist - gay - anti God - welfare babies

Im sorry that you hate my lifestyle but just to let you know, i cant help but feel the way I do. I know I am in love with my boyfriend and I plan to stay with him for the rest of my life if all goes well. Humorous as it was, "Down to the Farm," sort of made me sad. I still plan on having children and so does my boyfriend. We both want have biological children, and perhaps adopt a child as well; if we are allowed. Also, just to let you, i did not choose to be gay. I only chose to accept it. If I had not, I knew that I would be living a lie. I cannot do that. If I were to have had a girlfriend and decided to marry her, I would be lying to her and i could not do that to anyone. I accepted this to myself when I was 18, which was last yearn meaning that I am now 19, but I have not completely "come out of the closet." I live in east Texas and there are some very rude and arrogant people that live in this area. Plus it is a very Christian area as well. Slowly, but surely, people are beginning to accept this lifestyle making me feel a little bit more comfortable. Luckily, people in Austin are a lot more accepting to this lifestyle. I plan on moving there to attend the University of Texas at Austin next fall semester, and I know that i will finally be able to be more myself there. Oh, and also, I am not a feminine gay. Im actually pretty masculine. Most people would never guess that I because of all my interests. Just saying. Well, I just wanted to let you guys know about me. Im not going to be one of those rude arrogant and ignorant people that curse those who go against them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but do it in a respectable manner. You guys decided to do it in a humorous manner, although still hurtful, it was humorous. Thank You, Alex contact me back if you would like too. You all have my e-mail address

I heard the 2 Roosters song today. I found this site and read as much of Ray's Rantings as I could stomach. I found it sad and disturbing. The attitudes I found here are what keeps our nation in the sad state it's in. Its this small mindedness and refusal to accept truths, while hiding behind a book, that is turning America into a laughingstock. You are hiding behind a mask of "rightousness" while persecuting things you don't like or are afraid of. By the way, homosexuality is found all over the animal kingdom, including man's best friend. I guess roosters are just more christian.

I just wanted to thank you for reinforcing the stereotype that all Christians are uneducated intolerant people. If I’m not mistaken the 2nd greatest commandment was love your neighbor as yourself. When Jesus explained this statement he compared your neighbor to a Samaritan a person who was viewed as being a disgusting, vile, dog by the Jew (much the same way the homosexual is viewed today by many in the church). The time you spent writing this garbage could have been spent reaching out to homosexuals, doing nice things for them, and loving them. Jesus spent his time with “sinners” the God of the universe allowed people to get to know him on a personal level b/4 he started preaching at them…but we’re too good for that right? It’s not the healthy that need a doctor but the sick, but you would rather tell them what freaks they are than to try to provide any medical attention. Do you want to know what “ain’t normal” people trying to act like Christians without loving their neighbor. Jesus chastised the Pharisees for providing rules to people without lifting a finger to help them. Have you done anything to try to help the homosexual? Matthew 25 clearly states that the way you treat people is the way you treat Jesus. I’m sure Jesus really appreciates you poking fun at a serious issue that will cost many their eternity. Do you know that the majority of Christians engage in premarital sex? Almost ˝ of our ministers look at Internet porn. Maybe we should worry about cleaning our own house b/4 we start dictating to sinners what they should do with their lives. We are called to love not dictate. Rev 22:11 Let whoever is doing evil continue to do evil. Let whoever is unclean continue to be unclean. Let whoever is doing right continue to do right. Let whoever is holy continue to be holy. In your rant you point at the world, at Arabs, homosexuals, and other sinners, but look at the facts many people sitting in our pews every week are guilty of the very things you mention; they just know how to lie and cover it up better! It’s not the evil liberals who have gotten us where we are today it’s the church. The church is lazy and doesn’t want to lift a finger to help anybody. If all Christians tithed what they were supposed to we could end world hunger. Don’t blame the sinner for doing what the Bible says they are going to do, blame the Christian who is more concerned about their own comfort and politics than people. Jesus never bashed the Roman government which was evil and corrupt he simply ministered to the poor and needy that needed him. Get off your soapbox and start loving people!!!

I just received a forward of your "Down on the Farm" video and I'm quite disgusted. I'm happily married to my husband (so no I'm not gay) and I'm just appalled by your willingness to judge people. I don't believe in the whole GOD thing but I do know that the bible says NOT TO JUDGE one another. You judging them for loving someone makes you a worse person than them. They don't judge you for your music or how you feel, but you think its right for you to judge them? I just wish people the how the courage to sing a song would put more thought into their words instead of trying to teach something that isn't right. Maybe is more gays got married we would have less idiot people reproducing. Then we would have less people in the world that don't know when to kept their beliefs to themselves and their mouths shut.

We really enjoyed your resent rant. The other day I was listening to a radio program and the man talked about how to catch wild hogs. You may have heard it before but I think it bears repeating. To catch a herd of wild hogs, you find a spot in the woods that will give you the room you need to build a pen. First you put out corn everyday and get them used to coming to eat. When they get used to that, you build one side of the pen, just a line of fencing. Continue to put down the corn, they will get used to the pen and soon come readily to eat. Next you put up the opposite side of the pen and continue to put down the corn. When they get used to that, you put up the third side. They will get used to that also and will continue to eat the corn. lastly, you build the final side with a gate and leave the gate open. They will come in and eat the corn. Soon they are so used to the pen that while they are in there, you can close the gate, and you have them. They will run around and squeal and fuss for a while but soon accept their fate and go back to eating. Do you see what the story is getting at? That is where America is today. We have allowed our freedoms to be taken away one at a time and not done anything but go on eating, watching TV, played video games and all the other things we do to keep from facing reality. You are right, the saddest thing that we can do, is nothing. Bro. Lewis, we enjoyed your music and your ranting. I am forwarding this message to all our friends. I regularly call or email my state and national legislators and hold their feet to the fire. We must make them accountable. The constitution is being so watered-down that it would be unrecognizable to the very men who crafted it through inspiration from God. I will stop now, because I could "rant" for a long time. Thank you for this venue.

I just was sent you "Down on the Farm " video from my friend and thank you so much for putting your witnessing of God our Savior online for the who;e world to see.I think God loves us to have fun as christians but we still should be spreading His Word to all we can reach and you guys look like you really have alot of fun singing His praises. I'm in N.C. and I greatly worry about this stuff coming our way and I pray daily it never will, I have one grandson who is 3 and to think this will be something he sees as commonplace as he gets older and I just keep praying that we will never see that mess here, hopefully the Rapture will have taken place I pray so we won't have to see this,I see enough of it everywhere I look. Someone sent me something from you tube yesterday and I think you can find it I'm not sure how that site works reallybut I do know the category was called " Cardboard Conffessions" and I must warn you yes you will need a tissue. Thanks again for your witty way of of Praising my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Keep up the great work you do. P.S. I will show this to my 3 yr old grandson I think with this kinda thing it Has to be started VERY EARLY before the world desensitizes him,I as his Nana will make him extremly sensitive to this matter, again thank you for you message.

Hey, I live on a farm! We have many roosters, ducks, and livestock. How true, 2 bulls can't make a baby!! Wow what a variety of responses to your song. I think it's great. We are commanded to love the sinner but not the sin. I live in rural America where we don't have to see much of the homo stuff, thankfully. I think there are lots of misguided people out there, even Christians. Keep up the good songs...Twila

Came across "Come On Down To The Farm" and thought I'd tell you how disgusting I think it is. Science, psychology, you name it, has all pretty much proved that homosexuality occurs as a result of biological and/or psychological factors from early childhood which are completely beyond one's control. I think you should perhaps be a little more informed before you go and make such an ignorant song. Furthermore, I agree with below comment about procreation. It's an excellent point. And another thing: the Bible, and Christianity in general, emphasises love, and I think it's clear that two people in a gay relationship love each other. Love is love as far as I can tell. The only differences we see in love are ones on the surface. I'm a Pagan and I believe this. Please don't make any more ignorant songs. Please. -Kim, Birmingham, England

I just wanted to let you know how disappointed I am in your down on the farm video. Just to let you know I am a 26 year old virgin. I have had homosexual feelings since age 11...never wanted them and have prayed everyday that God will take them (he hasnt). Therefore I am viewing this as my "thorn in the flesh". So now I live everyday pretty much alone, with the exception of my family and church family because my friends have all started their families. I want a wife and kids more than anything but for whatever reason can't force myself to like the "plumbing" I'm Biblically supposed to. I will continue trying to love and serve God knowing that his strength is made perfect in my weakness. But please reconsider poking fun of an issue you really know nothing about.

Came across a link to the video "Down to the Farm" on the I-am-bored site, realized I hadn't cursed organized religion in awhile and decided to watch it. My question for you is, what is the 'purpose' (for lack of a better word) for marriage? In the song/video you emphasize that the most important aspect is the ability to procreate. If that is so, what happens post menopause? What's the point of being married to a woman if her ovaries are all dried up and useless? Your body is still able to produce semen, yet as a vessel for the creation of God's children, your wife is completely and utterly useless... It's ironic that your marriage is as useless as you see the act of gay marriage. Figured I'd point out that irony. Peace and love Forrest

Hi In response to "come down to the farm," i have to say your song hurt me deeply and personally. I'm a young gay man who went to an ex-gay ministery where i was promised that the power of jesus would save me but he never did. I've been ex-communicated and have no family contact, all for something i would change in a heart beat if i could. I hated being gay but i cant go hating myself forever i know jesus wouldnt want that

I love "Two Roosters Walking Arm in Arm". I have noticed that people seem to forget the passage in the bible about a man sleeping with a man as he would a woman being put to death. I have seen nothing in the bible that condones Homosexuality so I have to conclude that it is a sin..

Dear Mr and Mrs Lewis, I was sent your video "Two Roosters Walking Arm in Arm". Thought it was a very funny video and catchy tune, even though country/gospel is not my thing. I wish you would reconsider your antipathy for homosexuals. I'm a Christian (though not a churchgoer) who has several homosexual friends and acquaintances. From what they've told me about their lives, they seem to either have been (a) born that way, or (b) made that way through psychological trauma or sexual abuse. They don't 'choose' to be homosexual any more than you or I chose to be heterosexual. Gays will always be a small minority, so why get upset about them? One thing I did agree with in your 'rant' was the problem of so-called Christian churches that emphasise money and material things. There's a horrible mega-church in the Hills district of Sydney, Australia (where I live) that preaches a so-called 'Gospel of Prosperity'. They extort money from their parishioners and tell them that God will reward them with monetary success on Earth, in addition to a reward in Heaven. It's truly disgusting to see this perversion of Jesus's message. Jesus, after all, owned little more than the sandals on his feet. Sincerely, Michelle Heeter

Cute video with down on the farm (a very good way to express your views) but homosexuality and bisexuality do exist in nature (there was a pair of gay penguins in Central Park Zoo and Bonobo's [genetically very similiar to us] engage in many acts of homosexual behaviour). Due to the overwhelming number of religions, and different interpretations of a / the god / gods, it is likely that any single religion will be wrong. The Bible is no more proof that your religion is right than the Quran is proof that the Muslims are right, so please don't try to speak for a / the god / gods since you can't be sure.

A new survey finds that Americans are split almost evenly over perceptions of homosexual behavior as either sinful or acceptable to Go LifeWay Research, an arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, surveyed 1,201 adults in April to determine their attitudes about homosexuality. Forty-eight percent responded that homosexual behavior is sinful, but 45 percent said that it is not -- basically a statistical tie when the margin of error is taken into account. Schenck is referring to the number of born-again, evangelical, or fundamentalist Christians who consider homosexual behavior to be morally acceptable -- and that number stands at 17 percent, according to the survey. Thirty-one percent of Protestants and 55 percent of Catholics feel the same way. What in the world are these people thinking ! Our world is going crazy !! How can true born again Christians believe being gay is okay? I love your song about the animals in the barn !

I agree with your messages that we need to fight for this country - against immorality and godlessness. I disagree that Americans are asleep. There are many of us - yourself included - that are on the battlefield everyday. Your method is by sending messages through your songs. Some of them are offensive to some and probably convert very few. Other songs and postings on your blogs ignite a fire that are making a difference. But there are other methods that we Christians are using that you won't read about in the paper or hear about on the news. Our method is by loving our neighbors. Inviting the lost in our lives to church, bible studies and homegroup, being their friend and showing them that the godlessness in their lives is the root of their problems. Giving them grace and showing them forgiveness. I know many people, myself included, who are a witness to people at work, our children are talking to their friends about Jesus at school. There is a battle going on and I assure you it is not one-sided. Be encouraged and continue with your approach knowing that we are united and will be victorious no matter what....

Re: Video "Come on down to the Farm"I am a Christian.A while ago I would have applauded this video along with the rest. I felt a great need to point out the 'rightness' and 'wrongness' of others sins. Especially the 'obvious ones' as in this video. Our Father showed me I had a 'Religious mindset' like the pharisees because something is wrong if I am still pointing out people's sins when Jesus came to take them away. Then I had a cousin who is a Christian who was lured into this lifestyle.I began to understand that satan can decieve all of us and things can be twisted in times of vulnerability and when they do our Father's heart is to rescue us from all the places where sin has taken us. Jesus paid for all sins ever committed 2000 yrs ago. His focus is on us. He doesn't focus on our sin but on rescuing us from where we have gone and been led astray and sets about to restore us.His approach to sin communicates His love, care and concern for our lives no matter what sin we are experiencing. With your approach you are like the men who pointed out the woman's sin of adultry. Are you really so righteous that you can cast a stone via this video? Why you could make all kinds of videos on all kinds of sins...gluttony,gossip,lusting,coveting, stealing, lying etc.. Well, now I am going through my Phariseectomy and I find that I have a more loving heart towards people and I am willing to help them as the Father wishes to use me to bring them back to Him and when that happens... Thats when the Angels applaude.

WOW!!! Ray & Laura, It has been sooooooo long since we have been in contact. After I last spoke with Laura I had all your contact information on my computer, it crashed and I lost it all. I have tried to locate you all for some time. I tried a few "people searches", white pages and a few others to no avail. After a few moves, I finally went through some things I had in storage for a couple of years and found one of your cassette tapes "Lewis & Lewis", then I decided to just do a search for "Lewis & Lewis Gospel Singers" and there you were!!! I was so excited I called your number right away! Laura, you were with your daughter and Ray was home eating. LOL! It was so good to hear his voice and catch up a bit on all our happenings. Laura, I can hardly wait to talk with you again! I have thought of you so many times and I have prayed for you and Ray often! I love your website! It is beautiful and sounds like God is using ya'll to minister to others greatly! I have missed you all! Can't wait to talk with you soon! God Bless you! I will keep praying for you ministry! Love Always, Steph

I'm back again. I just wanted to tell you about my daddy. He died after a long bout with cancer. He trusted God for his healing and he wouldn't go to the Dr. In the end he had to go to the Dr. but he trusted God all the way to the end. Your song I'm A Winner Either Way reminded me of his unwavering faith and his belief that he was a winner either way. He died at home and all the family was around his bed when he went home to glory. What a homegoing it was. We were singing hymns and it seemed I could hear the angels singing with us. That was the most sorrowerfull and yet the most blessed and awesome time in my life. Again I say what an awesome God we serve. Rita Fischer

I heard you at Southside last night(7/15/07)for the first tim ever. I was truly blessed!! In the last 4 yrs. my family has faced many tragedies. My Mother lost a mother. husband. & a son in 18 months time. During that time my husband & I lost a great-granddaughter. That was 2002 & 2003. This year in March my brother tried to commit suicide and in the same week another brother was diagnosed with Non-Hodgins Lymthomia cancer. By the way I am the oldest of 8 children. Twenty two years ago we had our first tragedy by losing my sister in a car accident. GOD HAS BEEN OUR ROCK AND OUR FORTRESS!! Your song Walking Back Down touched me deeply, I can't wait to tell my Mother your stories and let her listen to your songs. She lives in Missouri. My mom & dad were sav ed & filled with the Holy Ghost at Southside AG many years ago so our roots of Christianity are there. God has been so faithful!! He has brought us thru many situations victoriously!! What an awesome God we serve!! (my husband is the one that played the piano.) He alwso enjoyed your ministry. He loves music & he thought you guys were awesome. Coming from him, consider that a great compliment. Love and Prayers, Rita Fischer

I just wanted to tell you what an inspiration the two of you are. My husband and I heard you sing at the Claypool United Methodist Church, in Claypool, WV several years ago, and were so blessed by the music. Years have passed, and today after church, I was looking for the lyrics for "I'm a winner either way" and in my search, I found your website, and once more have been blessed by you. We now live in Wapakoneta, OH and miss a lot of the Southern Gospel singings from back home. May God continue to bless you two, and keep his ministry alive. Cheryl

Hi from Charleston, WV! You we're a blessing to all at our church (Church of God of Prophecy). Your song "I'm a Winner Either Way" is wonderful. As a four year cancer survivor, i't meant alot to me personally. You are both so blessed, and are each a great blessing to those you come in contact with. You're doing wonderful work for the Lord. Our prayers are with you.

I just want to let you know, the song " A Winner either Way" gives me comfort today! I have lost a dear friend to cancer. Through her journey, she never lost faith in the Lord for one minute! She was given to us to help us find our way. She left this life in the flesh yesterday 9-13-06, to go to her eternal life. In one of our last conversations, she told me not to grieve for her because she was a winner either way! So thank you for this song. Today, I know that she is walking with our Lord, smiling down on us!

Wonderful stories. Sad stories. I don't know if I could handle the loss of two children. We were very fortunate to have all four of ours grow up healthy and fairly independent - well I guess they're never totally independent. The Goodman's were our favorite group - seen them three or four times. No one quite like Vestel. My best friend's father sang your song "I wouldn't trade the old . . . . " and I had never heard it before. Loved it and decided to learn it. Searched for the lyrics and found your web site. It is my favorite song of all times. "He walks the dark hills" is also a favorite. I would love to know if you're ever up here singing around the Parkersburg, WV area.

I think you tell the best story of our little church. Really enjoyed your singing at the Lords House on Sunday May 15, 2005. Hope you will come back real soon and visit us.

Hi Ray & Laura, I hope you are both doing well. I thought I would drop a note to make sure your new "Notepad" is working properly. It is a pleasure to know you, and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of your ministry as your webmaster. God bless you both as you sing and write for Him! Love in Christ, Jennifer
